Accounting Manager

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our dynamic finance team. This is a hybrid role based in Victoria, BC. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and supporting project-based accounting initiatives.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary Range: $85,000 to $105,000 CAD
Key responsibilities:
- Execute and support daily accounting operations, including journal entries, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, eliminations, project accounting, and reconciliations, across our Canadian and US entities
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Assist in preparing internal and external financial statements in compliance with IFRS, under the Controller's direction on complex technical areas
- Support project accounting systems and processes, ensuring they align with organizational goals
- Collaborate with the Controller to enhance financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems
- Interact with external auditors and tax consultants during annual audits and periodic compliance reviews
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting and analysis of financial data to senior management
- Support the use of NetSuite to improve financial operations and data integrity
- Oversee third party payroll vendors as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 4 to 6 years of progressive accounting experience, including consolidations, intercompany transactions, and month-end or year-end close in a multi-entity environment
- Comfortable working directly with external auditors
- CPA designation, or actively enrolled in the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP), preferred
- Experience with IFRS or US GAAP financial statements
- Proficiency in NetSuite or similar accounting software
- Proficiency in Excel
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
